Amy Schneider, reigning queen Jeopardy!, has just added another title to her collection: second-longest winning player in the history of the game show since 2003 when it reached the cap on consecutive wins.

In case you aren’t already in her fan club, here’s a quick recap. Amy Schneider is an engineer manager from Dayton, Ohio who shatters glass ceilings wherever she goes. She’s the first contestant woman to win over $1million, the most successful openly trans woman to compete and the most successful openly-trans person to ever compete. Jeopardy!

Her winning streak began November 11, 2021. Schneider won her 39th consecutive match on Monday, 24 January 2019. She broke Matt Amodio, a Yale Ph.D. student’s 2021 38 game streak. She is now second to Ken Jennings, the current host who has a 74-game streak dating back to 2004. In a tweet from the Jeopardy! account following her win, Schneider said it was “comforting” to have Jennings onstage with her, as he’s the only one who knows the position that she’s in.

“It still feels unreal,” Schneider said in the Twitter video. “Knowing that I had this chance, I was definitely thinking about it. Then Ken said it, and I thought, ‘All right, I just accomplished this huge thing,’ and it was pretty great.”

Schneider will be competing in the Tournament of Champions later. She is the first openly trans contestant who qualified, and she will be competing against Amodio, whose title was just awarded.

“There was a time when I was like, ‘I might be going up against Matt,’ and I was worried about it and I still kind of am, but I’m excited to have the opportunity,” Schneider said of the matchup. To Amodio, she says in her statement, “It was a real pleasure watching you and it’s really going to be an honor playing against you and it’s gonna be a tight competition.”
