What It Was Like to Reunite the Cast of ‘The Big Bang Theory’

The Big Bang Theory fans, rejoice! This is the moment I have been thinking about for the past many, long months. The moment when I could officially say, “The band is back together!” The moment when I could tell you all that the actors who made up one of the most talented ensembles ever to appear on our TV screens was reuniting for one purpose: my upcoming book, The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series.

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the entire cast—Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch—broke the news that come this October, you’ll be able to read how a show about a bunch of brilliant misfits came to be one of the most successful series in television history.

But not just that history; you’ll get the stories of what it was like behind the scenes that you’ve never heard before. I spent more than 120 hours interviewing the cast, Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre, as well as executive producers Steve Molaro, Steve Holland, and the writers. This allowed me to get insider information that was not available anywhere else. The result was completely unexpected.

When the project was first suggested to me, I was both excited and scared. Now, let me preface this by saying that’s a normal reaction for me. I get so excited about everything that I start to panic. I am the most organized person on the planet. Therefore, jumping into any new endeavor requires a lot planning, thinking, and even more thought. (Truly, my head can be exhausting.

I knew that I couldn’t do this type of book without the major players. I was able to see the results. Big BangIt premiered in 2007 and has been covered for the first time. GlamourI have known them all since 2011 and have great respect for them. If they weren’t interested in going down memory lane and talking about the difficult times as much as the wonderful times, then this wasn’t going to work. We had to do this book right if we were to succeed.

Another thing—since the series is one of television’s most popular, it felt as is The Big Bang TheoryHad been covered ad nauseam. It had to be worth the $30 I was asking for. It had to be filled with new stories you haven’t heard before, or go much deeper into those that had already been told.
