Selena Gomez’s Large Back Tattoo Has Finally Been Revealed

0

We began to wonder what Selena Gomez got tattooed on the back of her back. Now, the biggest mystery of December 2021 has been solved.

Gomez has over a dozen tattoos. On December 15, Kieth Scott, a celebrity tattoo artist from Bang Bang NYC, teased that Gomez had recently received a large one. Scott originally posted a grainy black and white photo of a woman with dark hair, who has a delicate, asymmetrical design between her shoulder blades. The image was taken from a distance, so it was difficult for me to decipher its design. In the caption, he wrote, “@selenagomez ✍️.” Bang Bang also tagged the Rare Beauty mogul on Instagram Stories. The woman in the photo looked exactly like Gomez even from the back. Although it was a long wait, we are grateful for the mystery journey that Bang Bang and Gomez took for us for a few more weeks.

On December 28, a better view of ink was finally confirmed. Gomez has a large, pink rose tattoo with a watercolor effect. The pink rose is placed on her spine. Its faded, faint color gives it the look of watercolor. The rose’s black leaves are dripping down her back instead of a stem. The entire tat is unlined – save for a few on the rose petals. It’s beautiful and gothic all at once. Alexa, play Evanescence.

Gomez’s go-to tat artist shared the full tattoo on his Instagram page, writing, “Watercolor on @selenagomez. Thank you for always being wonderful.” Check out the image from Bang Bang’s official Insta grid below:
