Warning: Spoilers And Just Like That… Episode five, ahead.
Yes. Sex and the CityDespite the fact that Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) is no longer with us, the iconic, lovable, brutally honest and loyal character responsible for some memorable, groundbreaking, funny and memorable moments in the series’ history, revival was successful. The rest of the characters will miss her, however.
Even though Samantha Jones isn’t physically present in the series And Just Like ThatYou just can’t seem not to forget her. Samantha’s absence in the first episode is explained. She moved to London with her friends Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte(Kristin Davis), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). In the latest episode, which dropped on HBO Max on Thursday, December 30, the show allowed Samantha to make a very subtle appearance…sort of.
Carrie has hip surgery, and while she is recovering, she records an episode on her podcast. Carrie is currently in recovery from major surgery. She is also on pain medication, which makes her look a lot like Samantha Jones. She then tells a very honest and graphic story about Samatha Jones’s help to remove her diaphragm. This story can be seen in season 2 of The Amazing Race. Sex and the City
“You cannot say boundaries and girlfriends in the same sentence,” Carrie says in the episode. “My girlfriends are always there for me no matter what. They are there for my every need. You know what? Samantha Jones, my friend, pulled my diaphragm with her bare hands because it was stuck. It was really stuck — like she was up in there for like a minute.”
Carrie is told by Charlotte, who cared for her during her recovery, that Samantha should probably tell her that Samantha used her full identity to create the podcast. Carrie resists at first, but eventually gives in to Samantha.
“Hi. “Hi.
“One of my finest hours,” Samantha replied.
When Carrie added, “hope that’s okay,” Samantha said the most Samantha thing Samantha could possibly say: “Of course. I love that your vagina is getting air time.”
Carrie then said “I miss you,” but was heartbroken when Samantha started typing, but ultimately never returned a response. Samantha, please return!
