Harry Styles added the ultimate collab in his Coachella set.
Styles had Shania Twain as a surprise guest on Friday, April 15th, during his Coachella headline performance in Indio, California. The ’90s country music icon sang two of her biggest hits with Styles: “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and “You’re Still the One,” both from her 1997 album Don’t Stop. Twain sang “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” with Styles on backup vocals, and the two sang “You’re Still the One” as a duet.
Styles, who was wearing a multicolored plunging sequined jumpsuit, thanked Twain, who wore a coordinating sequined minidress, for teaching him “how to sing” when he was a child.
“In the car, with my mother as a child, this lady taught me to sing,” Styles said, per CNN. “To you, for the memories you gave me with my mother, I will be forever grateful.” He went on, “This is very special for me. Thank you so much.”
Styles also added that Twain taught him that “men are trash.” A self-aware king! It sounds like the 28-year-old really listened to “That Don’t Impress Me Much” at an impressionable age.
Twain told Styles that she was “starstruck” by him. “It’s kind of a dream, and very surreal, to be sitting here right now singing this song with you,” she said. “I think I’m just in love.”
During his Coachella set, Harry Styles also performed some of his biggest hits, including “Watermelon Sugar,” “Sign of the Times,” “Golden,” and his newest single, “As It Was.” from the upcoming 13-song album Harry’s HouseThe album is due to be released on May 20, 2009. As if having Shania Twain on stage was not enough, Styles also performed a solo version of the One Direction hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” Good luck topping this performance next week, Harry!
