LVMH Prize 2022: These are the Finalists

Today, LVMH, a French luxury fashion conglomerate, announced the finalists for its 2022 LVMH Prize. The prize supports eight young fashion designers. Fashion lovers eagerly await its 9th edition. The list is a strong indicator of the next big thing in the industry and it is always something that fashion fans look forward to every year.

Since its inception, the LVMH Award has recognized creatives who have gone on to be major players in the fashion and design worlds. Jacquemus and Simone Rocha were nominated in the past. Julien Dossena from Paco Rabanne and Demna Gavasalia of Balenciaga are also among the previous nominees. And who are the winners? We’ve seen Marques’Almeida, Grace Wales Bonner, and Marine Serre, but also more recently, stars of Feburary 2022’s London Fashion Week season Priya Ahluwalia, Nensi Dojaka and Supriya Lele.

The semi-finals of the LVMH prize took place from March 4-9. During this time, 19 budding designers were reduced to just eight finalists. Now, the final designers will present their collections before the Louis Vuitton Foundation jury, who will choose the winner and the Karl Lagerfeld Prize winner.

Louis Vuitton’s executive vice president and director Delphine Arnault stated that she was proud of the finalists and would like to congratulate them all. I enjoyed getting to know each of them and was impressed by their creativity, their approach to environmental issues, and their knowledge and craft.
