Emmy Rossum vows to “get the love of the world” in “Angelyne,” a Peacock limited series about its titular LA icon, best known for appearing in billboards around the city. “Since I was a girl I’ve known that fame is my destiny — huge, gigantic fame,” Angelyne (Rossum) says in a new trailer for the project.
It comes with a price. “It can be hard when you become famous. A lot of people want to be a part of it no matter what it takes, so they’ll say and write just about anything,” Angelyne explains. She’s identified as the “devil in disguise” and we’re told that “money’s her bottom line, not people.”
Described as an exploration of “identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne,” the limited series launches May 19.
Rossum’s credits include “Shameless,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”
