Glenda Jackson obtained an Oscar nod for Finest Actress for “Hedda,” a 1975 movie adaptation of the play.

DaCosta grew to become the primary Black lady filmmaker to open a film at No. 1 on the home field workplace with “Candyman.” She made her characteristic debut with 2018’s “Little Woods,” a criminal offense drama starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James. “The Marvels” is slated for launch July 28, 2023.
