ARRAY Acquires Dominican Republic’s Oscar Submission “Bantú Mama,” Clarisse Albrecht Stars

Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY Releasing has acquired “Bantú Mama,” the Dominican Republic’s Oscar submission for Greatest Worldwide Characteristic Movie. TV actress Clarisse Albrecht makes her function debut because the main position and in addition co-wrote the script with director Ivan Herrera. A press launch introduced that ARRAY will debut the function in choose theaters and on Netflix beginning November 17.

“Bantú Mama” made its world premiere on the 2021 SXSW Movie Fest and gained awards at Durban Worldwide Movie Pageant and Quibdó África Movie Pageant, amongst others.

Albrecht’s performing credit embody BBC interval drama “The Lengthy Music,” a miniseries adaptation of Andrea Levy’s novel of the identical title, set on a Nineteenth-century plantation in Jamaica through the ultimate days of slavery.

Based by DuVernay, whose personal movies embody “Selma” and “thirteenth,”ARRAY Releasing is a story change collective “devoted to distributing and exhibiting unbiased movies made by Black artists, individuals of coloration, and girls of every kind,” per its web site.
