The Chimaera Project is a non-profit dedicated to supporting women and non-binary filmmakers. It has announced the Call for Entries for their 2022 TO.GET.HER film production funding program. TO.GET.HER will give $6,000 to select feature projects and $2,500 to selected short projects to U.S.-based filmmakers who identify as women or non-binary. The program organizers are “casting a net for a wide range of films – including documentaries, drama, action, horror, and sci-fi,” according to a press release.

“Getting finishing funds to complete a film project can sometimes seem like that final unsurmountable hill to climb to achieve a filmmaker’s dream,” stated Chimaera Project founders Shana Betz, Cheryl Bookout, and America Young. “TO.GET.HER is a program we are extremely proud of as it offers real assistance to artists to finish their projects, move forward in their careers, and bottom line – make films.”

TO.GET.HER applicants must submit a budget, a description of how they will use the finishing money, and a projected film completion date. The application must also include information about the number of cast and crew members who are women or non-binary. The eligible projects must have completed 90% of principal photography. An uncut rough cut must be sent via secure link to the applicant at the time of application.

FilmFreeway allows you to submit TO.GET.HER application. There are submission fees but Chimaera Project alumni can contact tcpfilmsubmissions@gmail.com to request a waiver code. For features, the regular deadline will be May 15 ($25 fee), and the extended deadline will be June 15 ($30 fee). For shorts, the regular deadline will be May 15 ($20 fee), and the extended deadline will be June 15 ($25 fee).
