Kate Middleton is many things. She is a duchess of Cambridge, future queen, mother and wife, photographer and advocate for early childhood development. Her shiny locks are flawless and she is a Royal Hair Goddess. She has inspired brunettes around the world.
It feels like Middleton’s straight, long hair has seen very few changes over the years. However, the Duchess loves to play with color, highlights, and tone. Let’s take a look at her hair evolution so far…
Styles for Childhood
Kate Middleton was born to Carole Middleton, her parents, and the first of her two children to Michael Middleton. Her childhood hairstyle is a tribute to little girls who were born in the UK. In family photos shared with the Middleton family, she is smiling in adorable pigtails that have rubber bands and barrettes that pull her hair back.
A five-year-old Kate Middleton, circa 1987, has her chestnut brown hair pulled up with framing bangs.
College Styles (2001 – 2005)
In college at St. Andrews University–where she met Prince William–Middleton wore her hair to the side, with side-swept bangs (it was, after all, the early aughts). Her long, straight hair was styled in breezy, easy waves that reminded her of beach hair. Her signature brown hair was darker at this time than her current color.
