Jessica Biel will be returning to television as a churchgoing mother and murderer. Playing the titular role of Candy Montgomery, Biel is nearly unrecognizable in Hulu’s new show Candy. And you won’t have to wait long to see—the miniseries is set to premiere on Monday, May 9, with a five-night event that leads to the finale airing on Friday, May 13.
Taking a break from posting loving photos of her own family and husband—Justin Timberlake, of course—the actor shared a teaser on Instagram of the upcoming series, set in the 1980s. Biel portrays a cookie-cutter housewife, who is not as friendly and caring as she appears.
The trailer shows Biel in the titular role as scenes play out of a seemingly normal neighborhood in Wylie, Texas, complete with families, church, school…and murder, apparently. Melanie Lynskey is the award-winning actress who plays Gore. She just finished the chillingly chilling. Yellowjackets. Biel, the man behind the addictively twisty Cruel Summer,This is the role she plays, swapping her silky strands in favor of a curly wig with large rimmed glasses.

Over melodic music that turns sinister, actor Raul Esparza (who is playing Candy’s lawyer Don Crowder) can be heard asking the seemingly normal Candy about her relationship with Betty. To which she responded, Southern accent and all, “I had no angry feelings towards her if that’s what the question is, we were…friends.”
