Britney Spears has already spoken out against Jamie Lynn’s new book. Things I Should have SaidThe singer slammed a particular passage.
In the memoir, Jamie Lynn Spears—who has been talking a lot about Britney during the press tour for a book that is supposedly “not about” her sister—accused Britney of locking her in a room while holding a knife. Jamie Lynn told ABC News about the incident on January 12, describing Britney’s behavior as “erratic, paranoid, and spiraling,” per The Daily Beast.
When host Juju Chang followed up the story by asking why she chose to discuss the event, Jamie Lynn replied, “It’s important to remember that I was a kid in that moment. I was scared. That was an experience I had, but I also was fearful to, like, really say anything because I didn’t want to upset anybody but also was so upset that she didn’t feel safe.”
Britney Spears now has something to say about the incident, which she claims never took place. “Jamie Lynn…congrats babe. You’ve stooped to a whole new LOW,” she wrote in a note posted to Twitter on January 14. “I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!! The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest piece of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut…so please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books.”

Britney Spears went on to describe Jamie Lynn as a “scum person” and admit she doesn’t feel like this behavior is typical of her sister. “Now and only now I do know only a scum person would make up such things about someone,” she continued. “I’m actually very confused about you making that up. Because it’s not like !!!! you. Around the children ???? Jamie Lynn, seriously??? Jamie Lynn, seriously? Congratulations on introducing your older sister [to the] concept of getting LOW…LOWER…LOWEST…because you win on that one, babe!!!!”
