Perfect down to the very last detail. Actor and style star Blake Lively hit the red-carpet premiere of her husband Ryan Reynolds’s new movie The Adam ProjectMonday, February 28, 2008. Lively, who famously doesn’t use a stylist, was photographed wearing a Versace gown that’s giving “Grecian goddess meets pastel sherbet swirl” in the best way.
While you probably don’t have too many gown-worthy occasions coming up (sadly), it’s easy to copy one element of Lively’s look: her manicure. Lively took to the carpet with a contrasting mini-moon nail design in a muted color scheme that’s perfect for early spring. Don’t worry, we got all the details directly from her manicurist.
Celebrity nail artist Elle Gerstein described the design as “inspired by a ’60s bohemian cool girl and paired beautifully with the shades of her dress.” And achieving it, she said, “is pretty simple.”
“I did a gel manicure, and after applying base coat and curing, I applied LeChat Perfect Match Cocoa Kisses and using a small detail liner brush, added the moon shape brushing from cuticle to center, left to right and right to left, with LeChat Perfect Match Peach Charming,” Gerstein said. “After two coats and curing in between, I applied top coat and cured again.”
