Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto Are Maniacally Bonkers in the Trailer for Their New Show

WeCan’tWait for WeCrashedApple TV+’s new miniseries “WeWork: The Rise and Fall of Coworking Empires”, starring Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto as Adam Neumann and Rebekah, the company founder.

The story of WeWork is familiar. It was already the subject of a documentary by Hulu and a podcast by Wondery (on the basis of the series), but it is not new. Simply put, Adam was a dreamer who raised a lot of capital to finance his vision for a millennial-friendly office space. He then expanded into the residential and education sectors. Some say that the company he managed became toxic and cultlike. There was a lot of partying and Neumann was portrayed as a godlike figure.

His wife, a well to do dabbler (and a cousin of Gwyneth Patrow, as they liked to remind everyone), became more involved with the company and encouraged Adam to have an eccentricity and spiritualism that didn’t seem to serve any business purpose. WeWork was exploding at the time, attracting more investors and buying up more real estate. Then, a failed attempt at an IPO spiraled into chaos, and Adam was forced to leave. He was handsomely compensated to leave. It was somewhere in between a scam and a bubble.

In the teaser trailer, Leto channels Adam’s intensity while Hathaway taps into Rebekah’s blind faith and her own ideas.
