Rachel is such an amazing trooper. It was a nightmare to shoot that scene, as it was 95 degrees in the morning. It was one the hottest days of my life. The ice would melt as soon we put it down on the street. We made it just in time to see the sun rise. It was one those moments when you feel like you are the only person in the world at the moment.
Last question: Do you have the series finale written yet? What was the reason you and Dan made that decision? Season five would be the final?
It was a complex decision that involved many factors. Amazon has a large say in this. They write the checks so you must pick up the phone when they call. We took a lot more time and care once we realized that this was the best way forward. The most important thing to us is to ensure that Midge receives the proper treatment and send-off.
We know the final image, even though we haven’t written the final episode. That, and the last four words of the weird episode, was always something I liked. Gilmore GirlsIt became a strange Sasquatch urban legend that everyone wanted to talk about for a long while. But, for someone like me I need to know my endgame…and that helps push me towards it.
That is what I can understand.
Some people don’t like doing that. Some people love to go wherever the adventure takes them. I wish I could be like them. Although I believe they live longer, I feel like I need to know my endgame. So, we know what the last image looks like. We don’t know the last four words, but we do know what the image is. Although I know most of the story, there are many people here to serve. These characters deserve proper farewells, no matter how good or bad and/or unique.
It’s 16 episodes, then.
Absolutely. It’s 250 episodes. It’ll be season 5, but we’ll continue to shoot it for the next 10 year.
I was going tell you that if Amazon decides to end the series, then at most, give us as many episodes as possible.
We will give your money a lot. These episodes are taking us a long time to produce. We are trying to do fun stuff that people won’t expect from us, because we don’t do this typea of stuff very often. We are trying to enjoy every moment because this show isn’t going to happen again.
It’s the thing where you work with people that you would love to be with for the rest of your lives and with crew members that you would gladly take a bullet for. We want to enjoy every moment.
