Christine Giordano, Women’s Health

Confession: I bought a Pandemic Peloton. To be fair, I’d wanted to purchase one of the bikes for a longggA good home workout system was the last incentive. And in all honesty, I haven’t regretted the splurge for a second thanks to the variety of workouts—and amazing Peloton instructors.

If you’re new to the world of Peloton and you’re not sure how to choose between all of the fab instructors—or you’re just experiencing some serious decision fatigue—we’re here to help. Below is a list of some WH writer and editor faves (let’s be clear, though, *every* instructor is ah-mazing!) You might like these workouts.

1

Ben Alldis will help you bike if it’s been a while since your last workout.

Ben is my preferred instructor in cycling. He’s calm but encouraging, and he’ll often remind you how much you’ve accomplished by getting on the bike that day, even if it’s only for a 10-minute class.

His 20-minute Pop Ride, which he started in May 5, is my favorite. But if you’re not in the mood for cycling, you can also try his strength classes or stretching sessions (hello, active recovery!).

2

Ally Love will inspire you.

Ally inspires me with her motivational words. I will do my best to match her energy.

The dancer helps me get into the music while I’m pedaling, which amps up the fun factor of each class. In fact, one of these days I might just have to revisit her 30-minute Beyoncé Ride from November 13, 2020.

And, BTW, she’s not just about the bike—you can also find her teaching strength, cardio, and stretching classes.

3

Yoga with Kristin McGee is a great way to boost your self-confidence.

Kristin is my go-to person when I want to do yoga. She has TonsThere are many classes to suit different skill levels, including flow that focuses on specific parts of the body and themed classes (like the Elton John Yoga Flow for 30 minutes in late October). I like that I can pretty easily follow Kristin’s instructions without keeping my eyes glued to the screen.

The reminder she frequently offers at the end of class—“everything you could possibly ever want, have, or need is right here inside of you”—always brings me joy and self-assurance. If you feel like you are drawn to Kristin’s style, don’t forget to join her for meditations or strength classes.

4

Alex Toussaint will push you if you’re looking for a challenge.

WH art director Betsy Halsey says she usually rides with Alex when she’s looking for a tough session. I have to agree that his classes aren’t easy, but I love that he’s sweating alongside you. Plus, he exudes positivity, So I’m always in a good mood by the time I unclip and hop off the bike.

I really enjoyed Alex’s 20-minute Club Bangers ride from August 20 (the way he carried the club theme through the session was so entertaining!Halsey agreed, and she said that she found the anniversary ride moving.

Alex has post-ride stretches available as well, but if you’re looking to stay out of the saddle, you might give his strength classes a shot.

5

Emma Lovewell is the best choice if you want to get to great jams.

Emma is the quiet motivator for Peloton instructors. She is cool, calm, collected, a great leader, and I like to think of her as that. Total badass. But don’t get me wrong—I still have a lot of fun working out and rocking out with her. According to her Peloton bio, she was once a DJ!

You can find her teaching cycling classes, but you also have the option to catch her leading cardio, stretching and strength sessions. I’m a big fan of her 10-minute Arms Toning workout from November 9, 2020. #oldiebutgoodie

6

Cody Rigsby will make you smile while you sweat.

“When I need to be coddled, or maybe I just don’t feel like working out that day, I love Cody,” Halsey says. “His upbeat personality helps the workout pass quickly.” So. True. Cody had me literally lol’ing during his 20-minute Spotify Disney Hits Ride from August 18. I found myself wishing I could have been there to interact with him.

Cody is also available to lead meditations and teach strength, cardio, stretching, or bike bootcamp classes.

7

Olivia Amato is a great instructor.

Olivia enjoys running, stretching, running, cardio and strength. AndBootcamp sessions are for you. So, yeah, she’s a boss. Her rides have me sweating in no time, and I swear she can see me through the screen, because her encouragement to keep going always seems to come when I’m most exhausted. (I can see why her IG bio says “ur #1 hype girl.”)

If you need a ride rec, I loved her 20-minute Hip Hop Ride from October 21—it was super tough, but the stellar music selection helped to pass the time.

8

Callie Gullickson can help you with a strength training session if you need support.

Callie’s strength classes seem to fly by, says WH deputy editor Amanda Lucci. The instructor is great at providing support and simple explanations on how to perform the moves correctly.

I tried her Core Strength workout for five minutes on November 13th, and she was quick enough to admit that her core was also burning. She doesn’t make me feel bad about not being perfect, so you can bet I’ll be trying her cardio, bike bootcamp, and stretching sessions, too.

9

Bradley Rose will make you feel like you’re riding along with a friend.

WHSarah Felbin, a news writer, loves to cycle with Bradley. “His classes are more relaxed and he’s really friendly!” she says. I love his positive attitude, calm demeanor, and lighthearted comment. Bradley explains why he considers him the Ed Sheeran for Peloton in his 20-minute Ed Sheeran Low Impact ride, which he posted on November 11.

Bradley, like Alex or Ben, teaches strength training and stretching in addition to his cycling classes.

10

Aditi Shah can help you relax by helping you meditate.

Felbin also loves a good Peloton meditation, and Aditi is one of her favorite instructors because she’s so calming to listen to.

I was inspired by her feedback and tried several of her sessions. To be completely soothing. In her 5-minute Sleep Meditation, September 10, she showed the visual of tension melting into water.

Given how much I enjoyed meditating with Aditi, I’m looking forward to trying her strength and yoga classes.

11

Ross Rayburn is another soothing presence.

Ross is another one of Felbin’s faves for mental escape. He’s got plenty of great sessions available, from energizing meditations to sleep meditations (and what seems like everything in between). He also teaches yoga classes.

I tried his 5-minute Fitness Goals Meditation on November 10, and it was great for reminding myself why I exercise. I’ll for sure revisit whenever I’m lacking motivation!

12

Susie Chan is a great option if you need an extra boost.

Susie is “super energizing and motivating,” Felbin says. I don’t own the Peloton Tread, but I tried out one of her walking sessions on a regular treadmill and, as expected, she created an upbeat and lively atmosphere. Susie’s Peloton bio describes her as “wickedly funny” and devoted to helping you be the best version of yourself.

You can start your workout with the same routine I did. Check out her 20-minute 2010s Walk starting October 23. You should also know that she leads stretching and running sessions.
