0 188

Sadhvi Siddhali Shree’s “Surviving Sex Trafficking” examines a global epidemic and highlights the stories of some of the human stories behind the headlines. In an exclusive clip of the documentary, we hear from Rachel, whose dad’s biker gang prostituted women, including her mother. Rachel escaped to foster home, where she was sexually abused and neglected by the family she was placed with. She ended up on the streets and was eventually trafficked into a fake modeling agency.

“I share my story with whoever I can because I realize so many people are helped when we’re able to get our voice back and share our story — and that’s when we get our power back, because we’re able to speak and not be afraid,” Rachel explains.

“With 45 million sex trafficking victims worldwide, only 1% manage to escape or be rescued. ‘Surviving Sex Trafficking’ examines the ongoing struggles of those survivors as they desperately fight to break free of their past, heal their bodies and minds, reconnect with a world of hope, and reclaim their lost humanity,” the doc’s synopsis details.

Slated to hit theaters March 25 and online April 15, “Surviving Sex Trafficking” counts Alyssa Milano among its exec producers. Enjoy our exclusive clip.
