Mary Parent is joining the likes of iconic producers like “The Walking Dead’s” Gale Anne Hurd and the James Bond franchise’s Barbara Broccoli. The Producers Guild of America has announced that she’s been named as the recipient of the 2022 David O. Selznick Achievement Award, which “recognizes producers for their outstanding body of work in motion pictures.” She’ll accept the honor at the 33rd annual Producers Guild Awards, slated to take place March 19.

“Dune,” “Enola Holmes,” and “The Revenant” are among the pics Parent has produced. Her Oscar nomination for Best Picture was for the latter.

“Mary has been at the forefront of bold, breakthrough studio projects for decades, and we both felt that the time has come to shine a light on Mary’s trailblazing career as a producer,” said PGA Presidents Gail Berman and Lucy Fisher. “Her vision for a strong global theatrical market and a future of films filled with grand visuals and imaginative stories creates an optimistic and exciting picture of what’s next, and we’re thrilled to honor her and her many achievements this year at the PGA Awards.”

Parent added, “I am very humbled to be recognized alongside so many legendary producers who have received this honor before me right down to the award’s namesake, David O. Selznick. Their films have influenced cinematic history and global culture in ways that only true storytelling can. As the PGA continues to protect and promote the craft of producing, I am grateful for its existence and all the talented and creative individuals with whom I have been privileged to work. Without my trusted team of colleagues, success would not be possible,” she emphasized.

Currently the Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production at Legendary Entertainment overseeing all aspects of film, Parent has “actively been involved in films amassing over $20 billion at the global box office,” per a press release from the PGA. She was previously the founder and CEO at Disruption Entertainment.

Already, nominations for the Producers Guild Awards are coming in. The nominees in the remaining categories will also be announced on January 27.
