Our Team’s Favorite Korean Skincare Products

0

I am always interested in the latest products that can improve my skincare routine. Over the past couple of years, my skincare routine has become a ritual. It is more than just putting various liquids on my face. While I may have changed to a simpler routine since the beginning, what is still exciting me is my fascination with what ingredients are and which products are best for my skin. I’d say my interest was sparked when I was introduced to Korean skincare, specifically Peach & Lily and Glow Recipe.

I love Korean skincare brands’ transparency about the ingredients they use, and how they benefit my skin. Not only did this kickstart my love for developing a personalized skincare routine for myself, but I love how accessible Korean skincare products have become and the philosophy behind K-beauty products being supplementary to your skin’s natural function. K-beauty is the most sustainable of all the beauty trends that are out there. It’s not about following the latest trends but instead focusing on personalizing your skincare and hydrating your skin.

Are you ready to improve your skincare routine? Do you long for a routine that you can stick with? Are you a product-crazy individual who is always on the lookout for new products? Keep scrolling for my and our editors’ tried-and-true favorite Korean skincare product recommendations that we think you’ll want to add to your cart instantly!

Innisfree

Green Tea Seed Intensive hydrating Eye Cream

I have very dry under eyes which make concealing my imperfections a nightmare. The Innisfree Hydrating Eye Cream was a lifesaver. I use it twice a days and can clearly feel the difference. My undereyes look brighter, and they are the perfect base for concealer. If I’m feeling like giving myself a little bit more self-care, I’ll use this eye cream with my Forever Eye Mask from Dieux. Just put the patches on over a generous helping of your eye cream and it’s the perfect, ultra-hydrating eye mask.

Belif

Aqua Bomb Hydrating Toner

I use a strong prescription Retinol to treat my hyperpigmentation and skin problems like acne. My skincare routine revolves around hydration. I use this toner from Belif immediately after washing my face and have noticed a major difference in the health of my skin’s moisture barrier. I follow this toner up with a hyaluronic acid serum and a vitamin c serum—the perfect cocktail for my skin.

Despite my best efforts, I can’t help but to pick at my skin. I’m working on it, truly. This Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum has been a lifesaver. I’ve been using it consistently for a few months and have really noticed a difference in the overall appearance of my skin. It’s brighter and smoother, and those pesky spots are fading away faster than they ever have before. It smells wonderful.

Laneige

Lip Sleeping Mask

I mean…obviously. If you’re not using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask you are seriously missing out. I was introduced to this product by a holiday set that contained one large and two smaller jars. I carried them everywhere. This product has replaced chapstick, vaseline and lip gloss as my favorite for moisture and shine. It is a staple of my skincare routine and my go-to for no-makeup makeup looks that I will repurchase often.

AMOREPACIFIC

Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleaning Powder

For my ladies that want the smoothest skin they’ve ever had, this product is a must. I started with the small size, because I hadn’t tried a powder cleanser before. But I was sold on the full size. This powder-to cleanser leaves your skin soft, hydrated and smooth. It is safe to use every day but I only use it once a week. You should use a small amount so that the bottle lasts a long while.

SkinRx Lab

Sherbert Melting Cleansing Balm

There is nothing worse than feeling like you can’t get your makeup off no matter how many times you wash your skin or use makeup wipes. I am happy to report that this cleansing balm has allowed my to stop buying makeup wipes. Although it sounds impressive, this product works like magic. It instantly melts makeup, dirt, oil, and other substances from my face, leaving my skin feeling so soft and moisturized. Although it may feel like you’re rubbing oil on your face, it washes away quickly and leaves your skin feeling hydrated.

Femmue

Super Fine Camellia Mist

It is extremely important for me to find products that will keep my skin healthy and radiant, as I suffer from dry skin all year. I cannot live without this mist. It is a product I can use for my face and body, and I don’t feel the need to reapply it often. It can also be used as a setting spray that locks in moisture and protects my skin from the elements.

Peach & Lily

Pure Beam Luxe Oil

This oil has been a part of my nighttime routine. Dry skin can leave my skin feeling dull, especially in the mornings. This oil helps keep my skin hydrated overnight so it glows the next day.

Laneige

Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer

I got this stuff as a sample from Sephora earlier this year and, honestly, I didn’t really think too much about using it until travel picked back up and I couldn’t bring my typical, six-ounce toner in my carry-on. I didn’t expect to be wowed by it by no means but, once again, I’ve eaten my words. This stuff is truly the most hydrating toner I’ve ever used. My skin is extremely dry, and after using this product, my skin feels super soft, supple, and hydrated. It’s the one skincare essential I didn’t even know I was missing and I’m definitely going to buy the full size once my three samples run out!

BANILA CO

Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Balm Cleansing Balm

There’s nothing worse than thinking you got all of your makeup off at the end of the day, only to wake up with an outline of your face on your pillow and residual mascara under your eyes. Thanks to this cleansing balm my pillowcase has remained unstained and I’m confident my skin is actually getting cleansed. This is unless I had too many espresso martinis at dinner, then all bets are off. This cleansing balm works without me having to hold my hand or force me to wash my skin. This can be used as a pre-face wash or after your evening shower. It will also wash off any eye makeup that Euphoria has applied.

Pyunkang Yul

Facial Essence Toner

My mom would buy me Clinique trios at Christmas as a Christmas gift when I was a preteen in the early 2000s. This was my belief system. My pink set was a low-rise pair of jeans that I eventually discarded as I grew older. However, the notion that I needed to use an astringent twice a day with cotton balls and an astringent kept me going. This was until I started to worship the Korean 10-step skincare altar and discovered the importance of essence. It helps to moisturize your skin and makes it more receptive to your serums and moisturizers. Although you can still use a primer before applying essence, the Pyunkang Yul is a combination. It saves me time and eliminates the need to use a cotton ball. It is simple to apply: I take a quarter of the essence and rub it on my skin. If my skin is dry, I repeat the process. The texture is watery so it absorbs quickly. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and calms any redness. It made my skin look much better when I began to incorporate it into my daily routine. It kept my skin hydrated longer than usual and I could see that my products were working faster.

Peach Slices

Acne Spot Dots

These were something I stumbled upon and I am so happy that I bought them. They’re one of the more affordable pimple patch options out there, at under $5 for 30 of them. They are hydrocolloid patches, so they help to reduce inflammation and flatten the appearance of blemishes, but they also act as a protective barrier so that you’re not touching or picking at your skin (we’ve all done it). I’ll put these on breakouts before bed, and by the time I wake up in the morning, any blemish is visibly reduced.
