Limited edition makeup from Chanel are some of the most covetable and quickly-snapped-up releases around. Remember, the quirky and inventive Factory 5 collection of 2021 that sold out in very short order? So in case you’ve got FOMO on all things Chanel, you’ll want to pay attention to La Comete, the house’s first limited edition makeup release for 2022.
The collection takes its name from Coco Chanel’s first and only high jewellery collection, Bijoux de Diamants, released in 1932. It’s a hugely important bit of history for the brand: stars, comets, and the like have been recurring motifs in Chanel jewellery and brand iconography for many years now.
Blush comete’s limited-edition duo. The powders are designed with a lenticular technique to create a optical illusion that reveals the crossed C logo in the mirror.
The La Comete collection includes two blushes and new Rouge Allure Velvet lip colors. The special star-adorned click bag packaging contains eight new lipstick shades. These shades include deep, intense reds, pinks, and even an unexpected dark plum.

The Blush Comete blushers are made with lenticular print and are perhaps the most fascinating. The blush powders are pressed with two logos – a crossed-C and a star – which are only revealed in the compact mirror’s reflection. It’s a fun trick of optical illusion, and meant to romantically evoke the fleeting glimpse of a shooting star.
