Sara Bareilles, Busy Phillips, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry are formally “in album mode.” “Girls5eva” is returning for a second season that sees its titular woman group “hoping to turning into two-hit wonders,” and the strain is on. “We simply must take advantage of plain album of all time,” says Wickie (Goldsberry) in a brand new trailer.
“Look how far we’ve come,” Daybreak (Bareilles) reminds her fellow bandmates. Summer time (Phillips) is much less encouraging, telling Daybreak, “You wrote all the songs on the album, so if everyone hates it, it means they hate you as an individual on each degree.”
Created by Meredith Scardino (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), “Girls5eva” returns to Peacock Might 5. Tina Fey is among the many comedy’s exec producers.
