The blue theme was chosen by Prince William and Kate Middleton for the first tour, which took place on March 20. It represents the Belize flag. The trip was not all sunshine and smiles for the royal couple, however. According to People, the duke and duchess were originally scheduled to tour a different cacao farm, but the trip was canceled over “sensitivity issues.” Ahead of the royal visit, villagers protested colonialism as well the use of their land for the royals’ helicopter.
