If you’re looking for a job, Gossip GirlIf you are a fan of HBO, we strongly encourage you to check out their new series. The Gilded Age. Just like GGIt takes place among the wealthy elite of the Upper East Side. Here, outsiders and insiders compete for power, keep secrets, throw parties and manipulate each other for their own personal gain. It’s awesome. The best part? Dorota is there.

Okay, but not TechnicallyDorota, Blair’s loyal housekeeper/servant and a fan favorite character on CW, is Dorota. Zuzanna Zadkowski, who played Dorota, is also in The Gilded AgeMabel Ainsley was magnate George Russell (Morgan Spector’s) secretary/assistant. (We don’t know her exact title in those days but she works at his office and not at home as his domestic staff. She only appears very briefly in the pilot—which is the only episode that has aired so far—but according to IMDb she’s going to be in the rest of the episodes, and we also assume the series wouldn’t have cast such an accomplished actor in a role that wasn’t going anywhere.

In Gossip Girl, Dorota has a thick Polish accent and references the “old country,” so it’s heavily implied that she’s a first-generation immigrant. We would like to believe that she is also a descendant from Mabel Ainsley. Her bloodline has been helping the wealthy and powerful of Upper East Side since its inception. Maybe she’s immortal, reinventing herself every few decades and never leaving Fifth Avenue. She is the power behind all the powerful. Robert Moses didn’t build Manhattan; Zuzanna did.
