Selena Gomez, fresh from a stellar performance as host of Saturday Night LiveIt is still weeks before the premiere of the second series of Only Murders in the HouseShe just restyled her hair with auburn hair extensions.
Gomez was all about the bottleneck bangs in March. She swept it to the side. SNL. In May, her hair was naturally wavy and fell just below her shoulders. She would likely not get past that point if she straightened it. Gomez, however, took to TikTok on May 25 to show off a look that was far from a lob. She wore long, straight layers that reached her waist.

The bangs are blown straight and short. This is the same style that Gomez wore last September on the NYC late night circuit. She wore mermaid hair that almost reached her hips when she was spotted with it. Just a month later, she cut it into a sharp bob…if she ever had the long hair in the first place. This rapid growth is certainly a result of expertly applied extensions. Perhaps she’s gearing up for another press cycle by donning Power Extensions—a thing I just made up. Selena, please drop the brand name!
As for color, it definitely looks like there might be some auburn tones happening…but that could also be the lighting or a filter. It also looks reddish-red in a previous TikTok that was posted five days earlier. On that video, one fan wrote, “I think it’s time for you redhead era,” and the comment received more than 11,000 likes. People have spoken!

In the most recent clip, Selena Gomez lip-synchs to a clip from a TLC home-makeover show: “I’m not willing to admit that I was wrong…so I’m gonna pretend that I love it and that this was the plan.” Surely she’s not referring to her hair, which looks absolutely stunning. As one commenter with over 7,000 likes puts it, “Selena, you’re gorgeous in any hairstyle!! 🥰🥰”
They are correct and they should admit it.
