Rihanna is reinventing the little black dress.
ASAP Rocky’s pregnant style queen stepped out in Barbados in a black Dundas minidress. It featured an exposed bra attachment, barely there straps and a minidress with Dundas detailing across her bump and one thigh. The Fenty Beauty mogul paired this daring look with gold hoops and strappy sandals.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle,” Rihanna recently told Vogue. “I’m sorry—it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
Her most recent bump-bearing outfit is exactly what she wants pregnant women to be comfortable wearing (though not the exact $1,450 Dundas Minidress). “I’m hoping that we were able to redefine what’s considered ‘decent’ for pregnant women,” Rihanna continued. “My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that. This time should be celebrated. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?” You can see the photos here.
Twitter started to spread unsubstantiated rumors on Twitter that ASAP Rocky was cheating and Amina Muaddi was pregnant with Rihanna. Though sources told TMZ that the rumors were “1 million percent not true,” they gained enough traction for Muaddi to address them on Instagram Stories.
“I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile,” Muaddi wrote on April 15, per Elle. “I initially assumed that this fake gossip—fabricated with such malicious intent—would not be taken seriously. In the last 24 however, [hours] I’ve been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off limits.”
She continued, “Not even during what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in one’s life. This is why I feel the need to speak out. It is not directed at me, but is related to people that I have a lot of respect and affection for. While Rih is continuing to live her serene, best dressed pregnancy life and I go back to my business—I wish everyone a beautiful Easter weekend!”
