The Royal Family on Twitter marked her birthday with an image of the monarch when she was just two years old, writing, “Today as The Queen turns 96, we’re sharing this photograph of the young Princess Elizabeth aged 2. Then, in 1928, it was never expected she would be Queen, and this year Her Majesty is celebrating her #PlatinumJubilee—a first in British history.”

Before her birthday, Queen Elizabeth received a visit from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to reports, the couple, who have been distant from the royal family for the past two decades, visited for tea. The New York Times, at Windsor Castle. Later, the Duke of Sussex shared on the Today show, “I’m just making sure she’s protected and got the right people around her.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton were the Duke and Duchess, respectively, of Cambridge, and honored the queen in a series photos they shared on the official shared Instagram account. One image was previously shared. It was a group shot of the Queen and Prince Phillip with most of their grandchildren, taken in 2018.
