Photos showing two people who resemble the Blackpink’s Jennie and BTS’ V visiting South Korea’s Jeju Island have spread on social media, leaving netizens to debate their veracity.
These photos show a side view showing a man and a woman sitting in front of a car. Both are wearing sunglasses.
These photos appear to have been taken from dailyfashion-news’ Instagram account. The Korean-language blog, which discusses fashion in popular cultures, appears to have posted the photos via Instagram stories. These disappear after 24 hours.
The photos remain online, however, and netizens continue re-posting them. This raises questions about whether the photos really show the K-pop stars.
Some netizens claimed that the photos could be edited from a photo taken by V, 26-year-old, with his BTS bandmate J-Hope.

But one Twitter user echoed the sentiments of many when they wrote, “People who said ‘it’s edited’ are FOOLING themselves. These (pictures) couldn’t look more real. You’re in denial. Stop claiming (the photo) is fake and instead, be supportive. It’s 2022, who cares if idols date.”
Others suggested that it was a ploy by the K-pop girl band Le Sserafim to distract from the bullying scandal surrounding Kim Garam.
According to Korean entertainment news outlet Soompi, Jennie’s agency, YG Entertainment, had no comment on the situation. “We have nothing to say. We will inform you if we have a different response to share.”
Jennie, 26, and V are believed to be dating.
Sharp-eyed netizens discovered that V had followed Jennie’s newly created Instagram account in December. Even though he quickly unfollowed her, fans spammed Jennie’s Instagram account, leaving angry comments such as “Leave V alone”.
