Stop eating after dinner. No desserts (especially sugary), no supper or midnight snacks Allow your digestive system time to recuperate. You can’t rest if you eat constantly. Your body is constantly trying and digesting the food you eat. Our digestive system would also benefit from a break from food.

Intermittent fasting is also possible. Another popular method is to fast for 16 hours without eating (also known by intermittent fasting). After that, you can have two or three meals during an eight-hour compressed window.

Intermittent fasting offers many benefits, including:

  • Promoting human growth hormones production, which aids your body to burn fat, build muscle and slow down the process of aging
  • Ghrelin, also known to be the hunger hormone, is controlled
  • Normalizing insulin sensitivity reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

 

The basic principle behind this is that the longer you stop eating (from dinner to the first meal the next day), the greater the benefits your digestive system will experience. You can only fast for 12 hours (e.g. If you can only do a 12-hour fast (e.g., 9pm-9am), this is a great first step to reducing snacking at nights. You can curb your late-night snacking by drinking one to two teaspoons Apple cider Vinegar mixed in a cup of water. Apple cider vinegar is also great for weight loss and health!

I get that desserts are part of the holiday season, so you can enjoy them, but in moderation.
